The Story Of Intermittent Love

CHAPTER FOUR:

Last Dance At The Westland

The Westland is less a place and more an idea…a series of emotions created by your heart and your mind. The Westland lives between your first kiss and the final goodbye. Since very little is built for permanence and nothing is forever, the Last Dance at The Westland replaces the final somber waltz with a celebratory “new beginning” for the last is never the last but the prelude to something exciting and new…this focused collection of Japanese denim and cotton chambray was designed and constructed as a nod to your history and to the unwritten story yet to come.

Construction + Details

The concept of the denim uniform is not new. The Canadian tuxedo has been a beautiful staple for many and functions seamlessly in many the fashion setting.

The CALItux takes these existing themes and refines them, transforming the denim classic into something a tad more elegant…a tad more LA!

Like with most things here at McMarden we began with fabrication and worked with Komon Kobo to secure the highest quality Japanese denim and cotton chambray.

Secondly, we focused our attention on silhouette and how these pieces could make a statement from across the room without yelling, thus we added vents, both at the waist of the jacket and the inside cuff of the pant. We also returned to a common brand theme, our shawl collar to give the jacket a distinct presence and elevate the uniform as a whole.
